The quality of Vocational Education and Training (VET) represents a strategic factor for the professional development of citizens, facilitating the match between labor demand and supply in an ever-evolving context. Today, professions require increasingly higher qualifications and the ability to adapt to change. Following recent regulatory changes, regional Vocational Education and Training Paths (IeFP) are becoming increasingly significant in the national education and training system. They are strategic, aiming, on one hand, to ensure the achievement of learning objectives set at the end of compulsory education and, on the other hand, to promote the development of specific professional skills. In this context, evaluation plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of vocational training paths, acting as a bridge between different governance levels.

Building on these considerations, the panel intends to explore the theme of evaluating the quality of vocational training, particularly but not exclusively, focusing on: formative design and evaluation, the evaluation of skills, including non-cognitive and transversal skills, certification models for competencies, self-assessment, peer assessment, and the role of feedback in the learning-training processes and lifelong learning.

The aim is to provide an interdisciplinary discussion based on scientific and empirical research, capable of identifying drivers and challenges that affect the quality of training offerings and the school-to-work transitions of young people, in order to outline strategic scenarios for the future of Vocational Education and Training.
